At the same time, the Museo Novecento will dedicate two floors of the former Leopoldine to the sculptures and drawings of Lucio Fontana for the Lucio Fontana exhibition. L’origine du monde: a journey into the artist’s poetics, from the original relationship between creation, procreation and birth of life in the universe and the relationship between the finite and infinite world.
CLOSING ON 18th APRIL. DONNE IN EQUILIBRIO. MUSEO FERRAGAMO
Wanda Miletti Ferragamo, in August 1960, on the death of her husband, decided not to close the company but rather to transform an artisan workshop of women’s shoes into a fashion house, where the children could give continuity to that furrow of innovation and creativity started by her husband, Salvatore. The exhibition itinerary, through objects, clothes, works of art, films, and photographs, thus intends to outline the activities and choices of women of different ages, even in working environments hitherto reserved almost exclusively for men: women of the professions, of the art, culture, politics and work that through their personal experiences illuminate the longest revolution of the contemporary age, the one that marked the end of the separation of sexual roles.
25.04.23 – 01.05.2323 MIDA: MOSTRA INTERNAZIONALE DELL’ARTIGIANATO. FORTEZZA DA BASSO
The International Handicraft Exhibition was inaugurated to enhance traditional and innovative Italian and international productions. Once again, this year, the fair offers clothing and accessories, furnishing items, objects, jewellery, food and wine and beauty products created individually by the hands of a craftsman.
23.04.23 BEN VENGA IL MAGGIO! MUSICA NELLA CITTÀ
Exactly twenty years after the death of Luciano Berio, the Maggio Musicale takes up one of his spectacular ideas: that of “Musica nella Città”. To celebrate the inauguration of the Festival, Florence will be “invaded” by the music of Tuscan bands and neighbouring regions. The ensembles’ performances are held in various squares in the city centre; at sunset, the bands will gather in Piazza Vittorio Gui, in front of the Teatro del Maggio, for a pyrotechnic musical finale in which the Musicians of Calcio Storico Fiorentino will also take part.
16.06.23 – 19.06.23 FIRENZE ROCKS. VISARNO ARENA
It is confirmed every year as the most awaited festival in Florence. In the meantime, The Who and Maroon 5 are approved for this edition. The rest of the lineup is still a mystery, but you can find it updated here with the tickets.
25.04.23 – 20.05.23 GIARDINO DELL’IRIS
A unique garden in the world created thanks to a group of passionate hybridizers to promote knowledge, progress, improvement, dissemination and development of Iris cultivation. You’ll find it near Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city.
